MAGGI ASHWORTH JONES
Senior Consultant, Grant Division

Maggi Ashworth Jones joined the grant writing team after retiring as Vice President, in Texas for Sandhill PR Partners, an agency that covered the top luxury and media markets in the U.S., from the East Coast to the West Coast, with offices in Silicon Valley, and Palo Alto, California, Houston, Texas, and New York City.

Before joining Sand Hill PR Partners, Jones was an integral part of the in-house public relations and marketing team for Rosewood Luxury Hotels, based out of the brand’s 5-star Remington on Post Oak Park property located in Houston (now the St. Regis Hotel, Houston). This early career choice informed the initial client mix of her agency, ultimately involving representation of the St. Regis, Houston; the Driskill, Austin and Claridge’s, London and marketing efforts for the Carlyle, New York.

Over her public relations career, Jones has been challenged with creating and executing dynamic communications strategies for select clients, designing media and marketing programs to strategizing introductions of a product into the market, with a goal of achieving optimal local awareness for high-profile brand names, including Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Hermes of Paris, Jimmy Choo, and Christian Dior. The agency also introduced Starbucks Coffee to the Texas market; initially responsible for opening their first store in Houston and finally representing the brand throughout the state. The agency also handled the introduction of Barneys New York to the Texas market.

The ability to communicate clearly, and concisely, at every level, is the heart of a successful grant writing operation, and it is this skill, honed through several decades of practicing media relations, which Jones brings to the team at TDG.

Born and educated in the U.K., after an 18-month hiatus in Paris, Jones married a Texan and has been a Houston resident for over 3 decades.

A lifelong passion for animals has underlined her community support and she has been  her involvement included becoming one of the first members of the  S.N.A.P (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) in Houston. She also served on the board of Saving Animals Across Borders, supports Red Collar Rescue and the efforts of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Utah, donating, when possible, to promote their ‘no kill’ animal shelters throughout the US.
